Now that we’re back in school and settling in, the PTO brings you our September monthly newsletter packed to the brim with information that you may have missed, fun tips on how to keep up with the PTO, and sneak peeks for our events coming up in September and October. Enjoy!
If you have questions or have comments on the newsletter, please contact Debbie at firstname.lastname@example.org
Our first PTO meeting of the year is this evening at Northside. Menchie’s of Middleton Hills has generously donated our frozen yogurt treats for this favorite annual back-to-school social.
This year we have an extra treat: our new principal, Duy Nguyen, will be speaking. Grab the family after dinner and let the PTO provide the dessert. See you there!
Have a kindergartner starting Northside this fall? Join us and other kindergarten families at the Northside playground from 5:30 – 6:30 PM Thursday, August 23 on the green structure.
There is nothing for you to bring or do ahead of time, just come for a relaxing hour to watch kids play and meet other kindergarten families. We hope to see you there!
The PTO’s mission is to work hand in hand with Northside families and staff to create a healthy and safe learning community for ALL students. Given we have new administration under Duy Nguyen this year, we are reaching out in this survey to Northside families to gather input for Duy not only for our first PTO meeting and Meet the Principal event September 11, but also to inform the year ahead.
Please take the survey, then email this around or share it on Facebook – thank you for your engagement with our school!
Today was a bittersweet day at Northside. We bid farewell to our beloved principal Roz Craney as he leaves to serve the school community in DeForest as elementary school principal. As a parting gift, the students of Northside partnered with the PTO to create a memento for Roz to take with him to remember his years at Northside.
Pictured below, each Northside student stamped their fingerprint on a framed canvas to represent the Northside children who have flourished under Mr. Craney’s administration. This gift was presented at the 4th Grader Farewell Assembly this morning. We wish Roz all the best and thank him for his years of truly inspiring leadership and dedicated service.
Meanwhile, a huge and well-deserved congratulations to ALL our incredible Northside students for a great 2017-18 school year. We will miss our graduating 4th-graders and can’t wait to meet our incoming Kindergartners in the fall!
Parents, students, families, teachers, staff, and volunteers, thank you thank you for the many hours you have selflessly invested in our school. Thank you for making Northside a great place, and have a most wonderful summer!

A huge shoutout to our talented, dedicated, and generous teachers and staff who give their all to make Northside a great place for our kids and families. Northside wouldn’t be the warm, inspiring place it is without you.
Thanks also to our Staff Appreciation Committee for helping the PTO show its gratitude by bringing in lunch on Tuesday and breakfast goodies on Thursday morning.
If you see a teacher, thank a teacher!
Big thanks the parents and kiddos who made it out to our first PTO meeting on September 12. Great to see all those smiling faces!
Our next PTO meeting will be Tuesday, November 14 in the Northside library. Principal Craney will walk us through some of the latest and greatest info on our school. We’ll also have a preview of events coming up and answer any questions you may have!
Free childcare available. Refreshments will be served!
We are looking forward to a wonderful 2017-18 school year! The PTO is here to ….
- To promote the education and well-being of all Northside Elementary students at home, in school, and in the community.

- To enhance the educational facilities and opportunities for the students of Northside Elementary that are not otherwise provided for in the school budgets.
- To sponsor projects and events for the benefit of Northside Elementary and its students.
- To raise funds as required to provide for the above objectives
