Northside Needs 2025-26 Fundraising Campaign
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our Northside Needs 2025-26 Fundraising Campaign! This year, we are committed to making it as easy as possible for you to contribute to our Northside Needs. Every penny we raise enhances the school experience for every student and staff member, and we can’t wait to organize fun-filled events throughout the school year to foster the Northside Spirit!
Introducing the Northside Needs “Easy Button”! With just ONE CLICK or scan of the QR code, you can make your PTO annual donation. For only $50 per child, we can achieve our annual fundraising goal. We promise no donation is too small; every contribution, regardless of the amount, is greatly appreciated! Additionally, if donating funds isn’t a good fit for your family, you can volunteer your time throughout the year at PTO events and share your fantastic ideas
Funding Needs
The PTO has historically raised money to fund our programs when school funding is unavailable. Funds are raised by asking area businesses for donations, fundraising events such as Run.Walk. Move!, and asking families to provide $50 per student. In recent years, we have not raised as much money as was budgeted for, necessitating the use of our ‘rainy day’ funds. Some of the recent funding challenges leading to this situationare:
There were fewer family donations than in previous years. Last year, only one-third of families made the $50 / student donation.
An increase in students who qualify for free and reduced school lunch. The previous year, the percentage of families eligible for free and reduced school lunch jumped from ~14% to ~21%.
Declining enrollment: Last year the second through fourth grade classes had between 64-74 children, but only 40 children were enrolled in kindergarten and 58 children in first grade.
We also anticipate that recent legislation will provide less access to free and reduced school lunch. Supporting the PTO will allow us to better assist children experiencing hunger.
This year, the PTO is looking to fund the following with our fundraising dollars:
Needs:
Hosting Northside events.
Stipends for classroom supplies.
Spanish language books for the growing ESL population.
Decodable books to enhance literacy.
Wants:
Outdoor classroom and garden
Additional shade for the playground.
Additional playground gear
